Wolmanized® Wood University

Not all preserved wood is the same. The Wolmanized® Family of Products has been synonymous with quality preserved wood for more than a century, since the process of preserving wood was invented in Germany in 1911. This process became the accepted method of wood treatment in the United States and elsewhere.

Since that time, we have refined and perfected the pressure treatment process, leading the industry in technological and process improvements (such as BARamine® Technology) and passing on this knowledge to our licensed producers. In the last decade, a number of new preservatives have entered the market, all with varying characteristics. This influx has added confusion to the marketplace. Through our Wolmanized® Wood University curriculum, we hope to inform consumers how to identify wood that is treated properly and how to make sure the wood is being used for the correct, intended applications. Please see the ‘Know Your Wood’ videos.

Wood is our passion. Preserving wood is our science. We take it very seriously, and we want you to get the best possible use from our products. We hope you enjoy learning more; and remember, whatever your project, there’s a Wolmanized® wood for that.
